On Sunday, February 15th, the Cornell Wind Symphony will perform at the Miller Theatre in New York City as part of the annual city-wide Composers Now festival. The program will feature jazz-influenced wind music, including John Berners’ The Late, Late Movie on Channel 88, David Maslanska’s Fourth Symphony, and new transcriptions of Duke Ellington’s Concerto for Cootie and “Acknowledgement” from John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme. CU director of jazz studies Paul Merrill, and the rhythm section from the CU jazz band, will also be on hand.
